Our Qualifications

Why study with us?

We are a small school with a family atmosphere.

Due to our size, we are able to work with our learners one-on-one, focus on each individual student, and cater to their specific learning needs.

We provide New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) (Healthcare Assistance) and New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4) (Advanced Care and Support)

Each student will complete required hours of work placement, which will allow the student to develop a range of practical skills that are important to secure a job after the course.

We look out for our learners and offer a strong work placement programme - providing them with individual advice and support in developing key interpersonal skills which are required by employers.

Why study healthcare?

Caring for peoples health is a rewarding career, where you have the opportunity to make a difference in the quality of life for another person.

Research shows a shortage of well-trained Healthcare Assistants in Aged Care and Mental Health in New Zealand and overseas.

New Zealand, like other parts of the world, has an increasing ageing population. According to the Ministry of Social Development, it is projected that by 2036 one in four people in New Zealand will be over 65 years. As the number of older adults increases, the need for retirement and assisted living facilities grows.

Additionally, one in five people lives with mental health concerns and/or addiction in New Zealand www.hdc.org.nz. Older adults are particularly vulnerable due to factors such as deterioration in physical and mental health, decreased mobility, loss of friends or family and isolation from their community.

There are many varied opportunities for employment in the health and mental health sector, including private, community and hospital-based settings.
