Programme aim

This English for Intermediate Learners micro-credential aims to strengthen and expand the language skills of learners, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing at a level aligned with the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The course, titled "English for Intermediate Learners," builds upon the foundation laid in the pre-intermediate level and aims to provide learners with a deeper and more nuanced understanding of the English language. Through the utilization of the "New Headway Intermediate Student’s Book" and supplementary materials, participants will explore a diverse range of linguistic structures and engage with topics such as body language, word-building, kindness, unconventional events, and more.

Throughout the course, learners will develop their ability to comprehend extended speeches, engage in complex conversations, analyse sophisticated texts, and produce coherent and well-structured written pieces across a variety of subjects. They will also refine their knowledge of advanced grammar concepts, including future forms, conditionals, modals of probability, and phrasal verbs.

This learning pathway is designed for individuals who have successfully completed the pre-intermediate level or have been assessed as being able to succeed at this level and are eager to advance their English proficiency further. It caters to a diverse audience, including new immigrants, refugees, and residents of English-speaking countries, aiming to achieve a comprehensive and confident command of the English language at the intermediate level.
